Path to the sea Print

This land is generously filled with sun and beautiful sea. I always visit Croatia by using a car filled with lots of canvases and oil paints. Seascapes and mountain landscapes, narrow and confusing streets, medieval squares and houses, a wide variety of different wines and cheeses inspire the desire to paint art works. A path to the beach. All the coastlines along the sea are overgrown with pines. Somewhere down they are covered with crashing-waves stones of different size. There is an unusual smell of a mixture of pine and sea breeze in the air. Making each subsequent step you can see how it opens newer and newer unexpected compositions of the trees and stone’s view. The absolute silence that hangs under the hot sun is cut by the sounds of crackling of local tree beetles (cicadas). All of this creates a unique atmosphere of soul calmness. The burning sun, twisted and sloping trees that are tired from the preasure of stormy winds, colourful sea under the blue sky enchants with its changing compositions. I stoped. I decided to create this picture in order to keep a piece of fantastic memories and atmosphere that would remain in our homes.
