“PenguinGirl's Seaside Song Session” (2016) Watercolour, ink and colour pencil on paper, 10 x 10 in.

 PenguinGirl is a character who represents the dreamer in me. She lives in the clouds with her blue penguins, away from the world that doesn’t share her vision or her dreams. One recent transition in my life is a deliberate effort to interact more with others, through attending arts events, organizing exhibitions, coaching, and running doodling workshops. As such PenguinGirl finally leaves the sky and goes around the world below trying to reach other penguins to share her vision and light. These little black penguins (also known as “fingerprint penguins” were created with ink on my fingertips, thus representing people hidden within their personalities and their comfort zone (the igloo), people who need a little nudge to emerge and embrace what illuminates their darkness (the moon), and what ignites their passion (fire). PenguinGirl and the music makers lead a seaside song session for the fingerprint penguins. In the school of life, some species stay in kindergarten a little longer than others. :: DETAILS ::
