About The Artwork
“Piano God” is a painting in the style of the cubist painter Jacques Villon an elder brother of Marcel Duchamp. Jacques Villon (July 31, 1875 – June 9, 1963), also known as Gaston Duchamp, was a French Cubist and abstract painter and printmaker. The original is already sold. Prints are available. Deliberately aged and given a 1950’s tone as was he’s style at the time, the dark velvety lines and vibrant colours framing the geometric aesthetic. I painted this whist undertaking a research Masters program which included teaching myself Painting restoration at the John Cass (soon to be renamed) school of Art part of The London Metropolitan University.
