About The Artwork

Living in Kuwait city brought me to a world I'd never believe I could see. Blowing firing winds and flaming sun drain your energies in no time, if you are not born in these though part of world. But the local extraordinary people ,living in their villages, with calm and patient movements manage to live their life as well as people do in the northern countries, rich with water and vegetation. I wanted to impress in my painting the strength of this extremely religious people, many of whom live in tents, with camels roaming peacefully around them, waiting for the blessed relief of the night breeze.

Grown up in the southern part of Italy, Calabria, small rural region, I developed my drawing skills spontaneously, thanks to my grand mother, who had a natural talent for fine arts. Since junior high school I've been constantly entertaining friends and schoolmates with my drawings, using any available tool, from pencils to fine brushes,up to decorating entire walls for local shops, in change of gratitude and a little discount on some purchases. Back then ,when I was teenager, I took private classes at a local artist school, MauriZio Carnevali, very appreciated locally. There I learned the basics of figurative art, soon I begun taking my own steps into the world of painting, mostly oil on canvas. When I turned 18,worried by the obvious and incoming spectre of the economic depression ,I feared to build my future counting solely on my gifted talents, and I joined the air force as jet pilot...yes, unbelievable and totally unexpected by all the community....my girlfriend left me for that.all those promises, gone forever.year after year, alone like an eagle in the sky, the voice calling me finally was strong enough to make me go back to what I was .I grabbed my good old beloved painting tools and I felt like reborn again, like I've found the missing piece of the puzzle. Deployed in Kuwait.....great inspiration for new canvas, unique landscapes !Next mission in Sicily....great sunsets over wonderful coastal skyline...wherever I land with my jet, I open the wing pod where I stow all my brushes and oils and paint the new heart touching panorama just discovered...each trip offers a new perspective of this marvelous world that needs to be shot like a still image on the canvas
