About The Artwork

This work is done on Hahnemuhle 300gsm paper cut to 8.5 x 11.5 inches. The illustration is within 6.5 x 10 inches. The medium I used is Nevskaya Palitra watercolor and brown Colleen pencil. My background is mostly in comics and my interest is in magic so I made this illustration depicting old school witchcraft in a modern setting. In this story a young witch is cleaning and saw two children threw rubbish in the storm drain. She turned them into toads as consequences of their actions. In classic literature witches are usually depicted as evil characters when they curse people but we also have to think of the reason behind their cursing people. Did they do it for fun or was it because they were pushed by certain people. In similarity to our modern setting most people are ignorant and callous and love tempting fate in the expense of others, for example in our environment. The witch in this story is basically teaching a karmic lesson that what goes around comes around, may it be physical or metaphysical.

I am a spanish-kiwi artist currently living in the philippines due to work as a graphic designer, multimedia artist, and teacher. I have been in the graphics and teaching industry for more than ten years and I recently made a leap to return to traditional art which is my first love. My medium is watercolor and graphite pencils. I create figurative and fantasy illustrations for clients as concept art, commercial art, for home decorations, or for their offices. I wish to continue more in this art path and come up with an art style that would be uniquely related to me.
