This work is inspired by the experience lived by the artist in his visit to the large tulip fields on the outskirts of Kinderdijk. That instead of finding a colorful landscape due to the flowers, he found the most atmospheric, gloomy and silent landscape that only a Dutch landscape can offer, therefore, the artist being a musician has captured the sounds of this experience (which are quite dark and almost imperceptible ) and has transformed them into a chromatic experience that we appreciate in the work. "Silence in D minor" seeks to convey inner peace, calm, introspection and calm in anyone who has a direct experience with the work. The artist has chosen the oil on canvas technique to pay tribute to the great contributions of Flemish artists to the history of art, bringing the past to the present to create a dialectic with contemporary painting. Landscape is the theme par excellence to express how atmospheric and expansive sound is, due to this the artist has made a study of the close correlation of light and sound, and as a result of this investigation we found a chromatic palette that is adjusts precisely to musical chromatic scales; hence the theme and the title. There is a persistent characteristic in the attitude of the artist in the search for excellence, that is why he makes use of high quality oils and mediums such as Windsor & Newton.
