About The Artwork
Sarah Ranner runs a small business called The Postmodern Pet specialising in Animal portraiture. Sarah uses exaggerated colours and contrasting backgrounds to create a modern /pop art look. Most artworks are created on commission from the animal owner, however, some pieces (like this one) are created without a commission - inspired by a particular animal. This is Spencer (@spencerthelilacchihuahua). Spencer lives in the UK and reminds me so much of my little Min-Pin, Ziggy. Spencer has an amazing coat that isn’t very common - Greg and tan with a blue tint (hence ‘lilac’). He has the cutest little smile and he makes everyone who looks at him smile back.
