USS California was commissioned in San Francisco in 1921. Twenty years later she would play a part in the Pearl Harbor Attack. She was torpedoed, bombed and heavily damaged, but after repairs and extensive modernization, she returned to the fleet to help defeat the Empire of Japan. This painting depicts USS California (BB44) in the decade before the Attack on Pearl Harbor. Ready to hang.

United States
Most of my artwork revolves around military and particularly naval subjects. This is mainly owed to my experiences during twelve years in the U.S. Navy, ten of that at sea. I enjoy painting historical subjects as well as from my own personal experiences at sea. I also enjoy portraiture and depicting people. My biggest influences are marine artists of the Dutch Renaissance, such as Van de Velde, and Romantic Period artists such as Turner.
