About The Artwork

This is the third and the larger piece of three paintings that explore the history of Graffiti, from Paleolithic times to our times. The idea of communicating with imagery is as old as human kind. Words come from images. So graffiti brings those histories together. These three paintings, with more forthcoming, approach graffiti as a layered attempt to communicate overtime, so the imagery is so layered that one can no longer "read" the words, so we're back at step one. You also see some of this occur on train cars, but more so on walls in the streets of our cities. NOTE: This painting is not stretched, it is painted on primed canvas and will need mounting. It will ship rolled in a tube.
