The Kaftan (Caftan) with traditional Turkish tile patterns – Original Artwork Kaftan or Caftan was historically worn by the Kings of Ottoman Empire and has gradually become a dress worn by women during the late centuries. Today the term Kaftan is often used to describe women dressed in a Caftan. In my artwork, I used the Kaftan as a shape, designed with traditional Turkish tile patterns. The patterns on the Caftan are a composition of lotus flowers. I also drew C(h)intamani patterns inner side of the Caftan. Cintamani, which is the pattern of a triangle of three spots and a pair of wavy bands, is often used in the traditional textile works. The Paper, which I’ve used in my work, is original handmade papyrus paper from Egypt.
