About The Artwork

The title 'Time Circle' first appeared in my work in 2002. Before that, there were many works in which the circle was a crucial part of the image. Like, for example, Meal of Friends or Stoelendans (Musical chairs) Check elsewhere on this site. Visualizing the intimate connection with each other is perhaps more beautiful than reality because friction quickly begins to occur there. The moment when every individual fits comfortably into the group never lasts long. Recognizing that moment and enjoying it is often only possible when you look back. The cutting technique that I first discovered in Rietveld and subsequently applied in many works such as Stampede or Babel’s End II is also applicable on this scale.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Ever since I can remember I'm drawing although I had no examples whatsoever in my childhood. I grew up on a small farm near Venlo in the the south of the Netherlands. The urge to draw finally lead to the Academie voor Beeldende Vorming Tilburg where I graduated in 1990 in drawing and painting. From that time on I am working on a collection mostly dominated by chairs depicted in very different ways. Perspective and perception are crucial elements in this never ending quest. These works are drawn with pencil or painted with watercolor. Still driven by my urge to draw.
