The original 9 page strip in graphite is still with me …. I hope to upload those pages soon. The story in a painting is a way to have all the panels laid out on one page, on this lovely handmade parchment paper. The paper I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. The paper is a thick parchment paper, strong yet pliable. The paper is made to this size to get the unique, uneven deckled edges which adds to the overall textural effect. The close up pictures are to get a better feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress and a recent photo of me with the painting. I also include a sample page p.1 of the earlier graphite work. Please note for the print version I have had to crop the edges and the bottom slice with signature. The original is intact. About framing. When considering framing bear in mind to not cover up the deckled edges. This is one of the specialties of the painting, one of its charms. It is best displayed framed with a cut mat board around the painting so as not to cover the edges, thereby putting some space between the art and the glass and bringing depth to the framed art. It can also be framed simply with backing board and pressed with glass over the front without causing damage.
