About The Artwork
This painting represents my author's technique, in which I prepare a canvas with cotton fabric (with an already printed pattern). As with the other paintings, working with layers takes an important role in my creative process. The spectator is involved in a game, where on the one hand there is the gravity of spontaneous graffiti elements, on the other hand the lightness of origami, geometric shapes, bright colors and balloons.

Vera Fonseka is an artist based in Portugal whose paintings have been widely exhibited nationally. She describes her works as conveying the paradoxical existence between the scrupulous intricacy of the details and the brutality of iconography. Fonseka's artistic process is marked by her use of mixed techniques with adhesives, fabrics, acrylics, and oils on canvas. She was born in 1982 in Tallinn (ex URSS, actually Estonia) in an actors-family. In 2003 Vera moved to Portugal where she's been living since then. Inspired by Kandinsky, Frank Stella, Beatriz Milhazes and Alexandra Mir, Vera Fonseka tries to make conceptual contribution in Contemporary Art.
