and so i finally cited my own work, creating a remake of my first carpet, which was in turn itself a variation on the theme of Alena Kish’s work, “in the garden of eden”. except that there, it was adam and eve from Masaccio’s painting who were sobbing, and here, the idea is com- pletely different and has nothing to do with that message. Adam and Eve are now leaving paradise as a place where they no longer want to be. so what does it mean? There is no cosy little world that couldn’t be trampled and crushed by a leather military boot. Yet it is worth taking a look at it from a different perspective: if someone creates such a world, they create favourable conditions for other worlds to be created by other peo- ple who have no access to their world. an entire freaking periodic table of little worlds is made. in some of them, people who are “really free” make money, drink wine, create paintings and write books, sing songs and go rafting in the rays of the setting sun, without thinking about what goes on outside. in others, other people enjoy the possibility of beating, humiliating, and torturing the weak without punishment, without thinking about what goes on outside. or they suffer, avoiding thinking about their unhealthy daily habits. and just like it happens in the case of the periodic table, when they collide, these worlds will probably explode, creating a huge nuclear mushroom cloud.
