Fisherman’s Wharf-Giclee Reproduction Print - Limited Edition of 100

Fisherman’s Wharf in Victoria Harbour, British Columbia is a bustling working dock as well as a tourist attraction where visitors can enjoy their choice of several culinary delights, shop in the gift shop and sign up for whale watching expeditions. It’s uniqueness is a draw for tourists and locals alike. I was asked to do a commission as a retirement gift for a nursing colleague—at the time she lived right next door to this beautiful gem on the sea—so it seemed like the perfect fit! I took the photo that I used as a reference and used artistic licence to make some of the floating homes brighter colours, then added the seal at the end. No longer permitted, people used to gather to “feed the seals” at the dock, so it is well known for this. So many people loved the original watercolour painting so much that I have now made it available as an 18” x 24” Giclee fine art reproduction, as well as an 8” x 10” paper print which may be mounted on a birch wood board, sealed with archival varnish and custom framed (optional). A sense of calm and safe haven is portrayed in this picture as evidenced by the clear reflection in the water, only broken by the movement caused by the seal.
