Ever since I was a child, I was told I should have pretty and neat hair, whether it was combed, frontal lock or whatever. I took that for life, even though I didn't like my hair that much; I didn't like its strands thickness, I didn't like its faded brownish-black color... Didn't like any of it, to be honest. But I kept it. I kept it for all my childhood and teenage years. In December 2020, I had COVID really bad; I couldn't breath, the most basic home chores drained all of my forces, I got to the point where my family wanted to take me to the hospital and I begged them to stay home, no matter what happened. During one of the fever highs, I thought "If I make it out, Imma do all the things I never did." Thankfully, I survived COVID. Soon as my breathing was regular and my strength back, I shaved my entire head. I looked at my reflection in the mirror and I smiled. "I've always wanted to do this", I thought as the greatest feeling of freedom took over me.
