About The Artwork
To float one must be quiet and a little vulnerable, Jan's feet are slightly blurred, I caught her just as she was giving a little kick to move forward. I took this photo in a tidal pool in Cape Town. The colour of water in tidal pools is constantly changing depending on the sky. The walls are painted bright white so they pick up whether it's overcast or sunny creating all these interesting different shades.

Keri is multi-disciplinary artist and underwater photographer. More recent work includes explorations into print making, underwater photography and watercolour. This work explores her love of the ocean and specifically False Bay in Cape Town. Her sculptural work focuses on using found books and plastics. Additionally she works with raw materials, crystals and wood, to create to totems celebrating the commodities our earth provides. Her method involves reconstituting this range of objects into artworks that are organic in presentation, attempting to link an artwork and its materials back to its original source.
