Painted Lady on white background. The image was part of a collection entitled Icarus which exhibited in Foto Skoda Prague in February 2011. Icarus was the son of Daedalus who was imprisoned on Crete after the construction of the Labyrinth. To escape, Daedalus made artificial wings for himself and his son to fly away. Icarus ventured to close to the sun and his wings melted, causing him to fall into the sea. Myth tries to explain man's existence and psychological truths. Flight and achievement come with the risk of failure and doom. Insects are frequently associated with transformation myths, butterflies more than dragonflies. The group of images were organized in a mosaic clock pattern of differing sizes. A clock is an unending cycle of time. There were 13 images: 12 for hours and one for the center, representing the cycle of life, of transformation. The dates listed for the photos are the dates shot, not processed or printed as this is digital photography and I do not process raw data files until I use them.
