I captured this photo while sitting in the brisk wind on the shores of the Hudson River in Dobbs Ferry, NY. As I listened to the white noise of the waves lapping against the sliver of beach sand my thoughts turned to my family and my ancestors who came here for a better life. The colors changed to intense pastels and I was deeply moved.
