"What's behind the mask?" By the legendary band The Cramps. This image is part of the "Barely Friends" series. In this series Skrrt Cobain explores the new forms of identity, contemporary intimacy, self love and sexuality which have emerged in the new era of the post-modern/globalised- and digitised- world. The "Barely Friends" series also comes printed in the form of a limited edition, quarterly published zine of which Issue#01 recently sold out. Skrrt Cobain uses instant cameras (Polaroid and Fuji Instax i.e.) as well a variety of 35mm film cameras to create his "snapshot aesthetic" portraits. Camera: Yashica T5 Film: Fuji Pro 400H film. Being young listening to bands like Nirvana, Sonic Youth and Mudhoney and now listening to a wide variety of music including new sounds, (Skrrt is an often used ad-lib in new hip-hop) hence the wordplay in Skrrt Cobain.
