About The Artwork

art piece to buy THE BEAST FROM THE EAST (a few words from the artist) > I intended to make this image highlight how easily illusion can take over decent minds and shift them towards paranoia, causing real disunion between people and, sadly, even conflict. > Being shot in the UK, during the winter which followed the famous Brexit referendum, one of the ways this photo can be interpreted is as a METAPHOR FOR BREXIT. > Similarly to what happened in America during the 1938 Orson Welles' narration of HG Wells' "THE WAR OF THE WORLDS", some of the dwellers of the British Isles seem to be trapped today (2016-????) inside an illusion/dream, where Europeans are perceived as dangerous invading "ALIENS". > In this context, it is psychologically interesting that in England, an occasional bad weather front coming from the continent was dubbed "The Beast from the East". > Another contemporary example of a similar psychotic phenomenon could be the recent (2018 - ????) paranoiac FEAR encouraged by the sitting US president who hysterically pointed at an "invasion" coming this time from the south ... > In all such types of political discourses, FEAR plays a central role, which, talking about Brexit, legitimizes the use of the term “PROJECT FEAR" (the real one!) for the populist side of the argument, rather than perversely for the other. ======================================================================================= WHY BUY THIS ARTWORK > Because it is a beautiful tribute to Orson Welles. ======================================================================================= This 30-LIMITED EDITION > The ORIGINAL artwork, numbered and signed on the back, is printed on 285 gsm HAHNEMÜHLE PEARL resin-coated Giclée Fine Art paper, is shipped to the buyer in a special, carefully designed ART PROTECTIVE package together with its "CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY". ======================================================================================= The artwork and all forms of included or associated texts are copyrighted © 2019+ Bogdan ANDA (R)

• Born in Transylvania, Romania, I currently live and work in Leicester, the UK. =============================== ◙ I started to be interested in art only after I accidentally met a group of "mystic", "uneducated" people, in Benares / India, more than 30 years ago. ◙ One important conclusion that I draw from their teachings was that art can be a privileged spiritual path, for both artists and art lovers. ===============================
