VIEW IN MY ROOM
This etching is on 100% rag paper. The print is 10x8". The paper is larger. I am interested in portraying birds in human situations. Many people in many cultures are disenfranchised. The crying bird represents them. Everyone else is happy and most of the birds connect through eye contact except for the lone bird. I feel it is important to include the lone sad bird as well as the happy birds.

United States
I was born in Bethesda, MD just on the outskirts of Washington, DC where my father was engaged in politics. I went to Brown University and moved to San Francisco immediately in search of unconventional people. I easily found them and found galleries and had real artists like Tom Marioni and David Ireland who were inspirational. I was in a group show at the Oaklnd Museum who has my work in their collection, as does the Tacoma Museum in Washington and the Corning Museum of Glass in NY. I was artist in residence at The de Young Museum in San Francisco. I had a one person show at The Napa Valley Museum and was in Braunstein/Quay gallery for 16 years. I have also done many private commissions and one permanent public commission for San Francisco’s public library. More recently I have spent more summers in Barcelona as an artist in residence at Jiwar.
