A limited edition, hand printed screen print, made in England. French Bulldog, commonly named Frenchies, are unlikely stars. These piglet-bellied, googly-eyed, bat-eared, lolling-tongued creatures look like a five-minutes-to-closing trolley dash around the dog part store. But the whole is definitely lovelier than the sum of its parts. You see them everywhere, outside cool cafés and city parks, snuggled into little coats or snoring quietly in their baskets in the corners of smart boutiques. They sit on the chicest laps and attend the glitziest parties. The French bulldog is defintely fashion. I have played with the dog image by imaging it like a motorbike rider. The title "Easy rider" comes from a "road film" from 1969, tale of a search for freedom (or the illusion of freedom) in a conformist and corrupt America. By placing it in a suprising decorum, I try to find humor in day to day life. Please note colour may vary (only slightly) in the flesh. This screen print was hand printed in water based inks on 300gsm Cartridge Paper. Size of image : 40 X 53 cm Limited Edition 7/15 PLEASE NOTE: Frame not included. This print will be wrapped in acid free tissue paper and packed in a robust cardboard box for delivery. A trackable mailing service is normally used to ensure it reaches you safely.

I am a printmaker and mixed media artist based in London. I rely on photography, drawing, paint and collage to explore the world around me. In my artworks, images are combined, removed from their original narrative context and reconfigured into a new scenario. Some of my works are based on collages, transformed into a hand made screen print. I appreciate the messiness of sticky glue, soggy paper and the unpredictable nature of the final product. I am interested in working on the boundaries between collage and technology. My visual language embraces the brightness of Pop art. I like the screen printing media because it is no longer confined to a simple impression on paper, it offers artists a way to experiment and fail, to test colour relationships and play with ideas. Often appropriating visual themes and incorporating these as printed motifs, I adopt a playful approach in my practice. Inspiration is found in my surroundings: colours, lines, shapes and patterns that can be found in cities, design and fashion and try to find humour in day to day life. I am inspired also by pets and their special place in our family life.
