About The Artwork

An intricate and complex network of water distribution, as a circulatory system that feeds an organism, crosses town, branching by streets and buildings, forming a gigantic system of pipes, which run through the space, "feeding" the colossal body it is the metropolis. Kilometers of these pipes, trapped in concrete form an organized and labyrinthine set of lines that we can only imagine. Imagine then, for a moment, that by extraordinary powers granted by Aeolus, lord of the winds, we pulverize the concrete with a cyclonic blow exposing the colossal tubes structure, and remaining cement. Dissipated the dust, stands before us a new and surreal landscape of pipes that intersect themselves in a circulatory desire to reach at the final destination the vital liquid. Curious, we approach and we are led to look at the details. We note, unintentionally, some of these images that, as panels, organize in our memory. Each panel "3/4 inch" is a section of the tangled pipe universe which crosses and intersects, "shifting" in all directions as endless highways. It's a close-up, a detail that I try to capture, as if using a camera, narrating in a frame, a small piece of history that linked them to a house, a family, a person. Each panel is the simulacrum of ethnographic record that anonymous pipes that integrate the panel really have, where lives were fulfilled in a banal everyday life, or perhaps an extraordinary one. It is an imaginary register, a tale, a fictional piece that reveals the imagined real.
