About The Artwork

"Discrepant Reflection" is a work that presents a double portrait of a woman, in which the second portrait appears to be a duplicate image of the first, but with a slight displacement in time. The work reflects on the complexity of identity and how the perception of us and others can be incomplete or even contradictory over time. The second duplicate portrait represents the image we have of ourselves personally, at a specific time in time, which may be different from how others perceive us at this or at different times. The lines connecting the two portraits symbolize the complex relationship between these different parts of our identity over time. Discrepant Reflex refers to the contradiction between what is seen and what is thought at different times in time, between how we perceive ourselves personally and how others see us. The work invites the viewer to reflect on the complexity and ambiguity of human identity, and how personal and other understanding is constantly evolving. In short, "Discrepant Reflection" is a work that explores the multifaceted nature of identity and the complexity of human relationships over time. The work invites the viewer to question their own perception of themselves and others over time, and to accept the complexity and ambiguity that it entails. The work is also a combination of means of which watercolor is highlighted to give color to the drawing, the pencil used to give volume to the body The drawing was made on 250 gram acid free cotton paper using Derwent pencils and Winsor and Newton watercolors.

Zoe Lunar radiates and works in Mexico City, is a graduate of the national school of painting, sculpture and engraving "La Esmeralda". He is an artist in constant formation, who seeks plastic, visual and sound experimentation. His work feeds on time as matter and how it helps to interpret reality, through temporal representations, of spaces that converge in their social context and how this influences the formation and interpretation of our different contemporary realities; making use of the qualities of painting and drawing to make deformations in a perceptive portrait of different moments, and personal times in a single interpretation. He is currently nurturing his plastic work especially in painting and drawing, giving him new outlets like AR in some of his new works and occasionally making music and video.
