Drawing, Ballpoint Pen on Paper

Ships in a Tube
This is an illustration I drew when I was admiring the shape of the female figure. I tend not to over exaggerate anything I see and only draw what I see. I was studying the artist Lucien Freud at the time of drawing this and I feel his attention to detail rubbed off on me when creating the piece. You can see this especially in the attention to detail and volume. I hope you enjoy viewing it.

Ireland
Robin Leavy is an Irish visual artist who specializes in figurative art, and portraiture. Genre/Subjects: Robins' work is the definition of intrinsic detail, drawing from life, the artist captures the emotions of what he observes in the purist way. His fixation with structure, texture, proportion and anatomical definition pull his work into a profoundly powerful genre that alludes to the work of artist Albrecht Durer, a master of drawing. Also Inspired by the mind and detailed work of great artist Lucien Freud, Robin draws figuratively based on the concept that 'the aura given out by a person or object is as much a part of them as their flesh' (Lucien Freud) Style: Robin has experimented in many different styles over his lifelong artist journey and has always gravitated toward realistic and detailed portrayals of the figure. His chosen style compliments the way he sees the world through his eyes mind. The artist tends to be a specialist in his career and believes that 'you should never stop investigating and learning about the world and your practice as an artist. There is always something you can thrive for.' The Artists Inspiration: From a young age the artist has found drawing to be be his escape from the chaos and turmoil he often times feels from being a highly emotional and sensitive person.Creating for Robin has always and always will be as fundamentally important to his existence as oxygen is to our survival. Media: From a young age Robin has the ability to create his detailed and intricate art works using a range of media but generally chooses to depict his subjects of choice using drawing media such as Pencil, Ballpoint Pen, Graphite, Inks and Charcoal. Although colour uplifts mood, he believes mastering one media takes 1000's upon 1000's of hours of practice and once achieved permits the artist to explore other media which he has started to do in the form of acrylic and watercolour painting.
