Was fortunate to be able to view this sculpture, Winged Victory of Samothrace, at the Louvre, on two separate visits to Paris. What a thrill! Years after these travels I was leafing through a book of photos of the ancient collection at the Louvre. Finally had something monumental to draw on this monumental Chinese paper I had been saving for an unique image and this happened which led to years of focus on this single image in many mediums.
