This contains exaggerated versions of different hairstyles in USA throughout the past century. The earring is from around the 1920s and clothing from 1940s-50s. Looking through women's hairstyles from the late 1800s, I've noticed that the 1920s were the beginning of dramatic and daring (for those times) changes, possibly because of the popularity of movies and their actresses. The background is done in colored pencils and is fuzzy to give her the look of traveling through time.
