Sketch Title: My Little Balloon This drawing is a part of a collection of sketches that are an emotional reflection of journeys in my mind and physical world. On July 22,2000 I was assaulted with acid rendering me with scars to 80 percent of my body. My art is an expression of pain, defeats, survival, victories, great losses and wins. No longer seeing myself as a victim but as a Survivor. Journeys as I slept. “My Little Balloon” is one of the original sketches from my book “Induced Coma”, an unpublished book of original poems and sketches in a story format. My sketches are a surreal look at my life. Images of nude women with beautiful forms not usually showing their faces. Reflection of myself and love of the human form. Everyone looking different. An expression of solidarity. “I am you, you are me.”
