About The Artwork

“All the best and worse things in us are bound up in the legacy of our family. As children we ardently trust in the stability or, in some cases, the instability we were born into. No matter which...we embraced what was decent while simultaneously suppressing what was deficient yet both traits weaved roots of faithfulness and consternation into the very fabric of who we've become. This now plays significantly into how we nurture our own families and how we relate to others. Our love, our fears, our insecurities, and our loyalties all draw from how we were raised as well as our inherent desire to shift its paradigm to optimistically better the life of not just our children...but our children's children. That's the gift and or the curse of a legacy. Which will you leave behind?” – Jason Versey, A Walk with Prudence All works from the 'Dissecting Gravity' series are uniquely created on high quality art paper mounted on wood panels. Many of these panels are handcrafted by her talented husband and woodworker, Dave Anderson. She begins each piece with several layers of translucent watercolors. The rich texture of the trees and other images are created with collaged pieces of litter which she cleans up locally, in addition to recycled junk mail and old magazines, as a gentle reminder that if we do not stop trashing the planet, trees will not grow from our garbage in the future. Once the collage bits are all glued down, she then finishes the piece with graphite pencil details and more paint. Lastly, the entire piece is finished with two coats of archival mat varnish, creating a contemporary and sturdy, yet natural look. No framing required as the edges are a beautiful natural wood. The overall result is an aesthetically alluring composition with a hidden message about protecting our forests. This artwork is a Diptych. Each panel is 23.5 W X 27.5 H To learn more about the Artist visit - www.lindakleinart.com Open studios are available in San Anselmo, CA daily.

Linda Klein, a nature-loving artist hailing from the Bay Area, California, embarks on a soulful journey that harmonizes realism and abstract expression. Unveiling her artistic flair in preschool, Linda's earliest creative adventures prompted her parents to enroll her in local art classes—a bid to save their home from toddler graffiti and nurture her burgeoning talent. Nestled in the wild beauty of West Marin since 2009, Linda draws inspiration from her surroundings. Her artistic evolution mirrors the diverse landscapes she calls home—ranging from detailed graphite drawings to vibrant, ecologically themed pieces infused with recycled collage elements. Linda's unique process involves mounting watercolor paper onto handcrafted wood panels which are often created by her equally talented woodworking husband. This technique imposes a modern eco-conscious approach that bypasses traditional framing. Linda's art is a personal reflection, resonating with the rhythms of nature. With an unwavering commitment to continuing her creative education and a dance between documentation and new realities, Linda Klein's journey is a deeply personal ode to the beauty of our planet.
