About The Artwork

A Tender Wish Sometimes, when some things are not always reachable, or possible, it helps to wish for it and probably we all have a well of wishes. From all of them, there are those special hopes and wishful thinking gives us hope to keep us going. There is always a special wish in our heart and may it be tender. This painting is a part of an abstract body of work which I work on from time to time, through psychic automatism and their purpose is for wellbeing, or to let slip the daily bothers. This particular one is done on a small scale for those who feel it suits them in this way. My colour scheme is generally intentionally chosen and this is also the case with this piece. It started with the colour and an idea of what I want from it more or less, then I went along with what I felt was right. It is easy on the eye and has its interesting aspects, nothing that rigid or set with the purpose to be conveyed to the viewer. What is left is the viewer’s acceptance and self-contemplation, or tender wish. The painting is done in mixed media, on a gallery stretched canvas with all four sides neatly painted in a very light khaki brown. It is almost borderless, with no framing required, yet looking complete as it is. With this in thought, my signature is placed on the back of the painting, together with the other markings, as not to interfere with the viewing. Best wishes, Zeal.

Jason is a painter and illustrator of various styles and different media for different ends. Principally a surrealistic and abstract artist, he has a fondness for satire and caricature, with a hint of humour fantasy and the whimsical. Nevertheless, there is a realistic and a sober aspect to some of his work too. His different genres of works are ongoing series which are added to from time to time, whether it is his Aviary, Abstract, Allegoric or any other style he employs. World events, social affairs and politics draw his attention, but he can be inspired by everything and anything seen, heard or felt. His expression can be direct or ambiguous. What is prevalent throughout his work is light, movement and flow, hardly any black is employed, leaning towards enlightenment.
