About The Artwork

This painting was inspired by a license-free photo taken in Algonquin Provincial Park in southeastern Ontario, Canada. Among the thousands of parks across Canada, Algonquin was the first provincial park established to protect a natural environment. Spanning over 4753 square miles (7650 sq. km.), it’s home to forests, rivers, and numerous lakes, as well as moose, bears, and common loons. As someone who spent most of my life in Ontario, Canada, the only thing missing in the painting are the blood-hungry mosquitos! ;) 11″ x 14″ x .5" / 27.94 cm x 35.56 cm x 1.27cm Canvas board Artist signed in the bottom right corner. No matter what I’ve done in my life, I’ve always tried to embrace my endless creativity and passion. It’s in my DNA. I have had a diverse career as a marketing and branding consultant, copywriter, graphic designer, author, professional speaker, singer-songwriter, educator, television show host, and nonprofit executive. I studied music and art as part of my education and I often use music to inspire my art. I frequently use my own photos as a reference, as well as those by family, friends, and excellent fine art photographers who allow me to paint their images in my own style. The resulting art I create transcends the limits of time, capturing a place and moment forever. My goal is to transport people into my paintings, enabling them to engulf the mood, scene, and emotion through light, color, and dimension. Originally from Canada, I hold both an honors Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees. I relocated to Arizona in 2004, becoming a U.S. citizen in 2014. I continue to grow as an artist and enjoy sharing my work with an expanding audience.
