About The Artwork
I've been practicing walking along and drawing at the same time, in order to loosen up my style. This is a track where I walk regularly and even though I walked along for at least 5 minutes while sketching, this composition doesn't differ so much from reality. I painted this in the studio from a smaller sketch, which I sat down in the landscape to colour in at sunset. I painted this in oils because of the vivid colours and durability of the paint. It's a beautiful time of year when the almond trees are in blossom. I hope this painting can give someone a sense of peace and freedom knowing that landscapes like these do exist and can be walked.
