Beach At Night - Experimental Painting

I love the effects that you can achieve by adding silicone oil and water to acrylics. I think of it as Organic painting, because you never know for sure how it is going to turn out, but all the colors seem to work organically, as if in nature. The large "cells" like the ones in this experiment are tricky to achieve. A swiping method is used as well as a butane torch, to set the cells quickly. The sides of the canvas have been covered with the paint as well and the background is a deep Prussian Blue. Crazing and cracking can be common in paintings like this but I'm happy to say there is absolutely none of that in this poured painting and the application is thin enough not to weigh down the canvas.
