When I was young, I loved to ride my bike through the suburban track housing where I lived, over to the edge of town where the apricot orchards and meadows had yet to be bulldozed. This painting depicts that carefree time of exploring my neighborhood. Today, the entire area is fully developed and home to Google’s headquarters.
