Since I've started this #Hispaniola series with coffee, then why not get to #breakfast ? This #streetfood basically saved me whenever I work in an office and had no time to eat. I would ask our messenger to buy me #PateKode during my first job in #Haiti, usually with chicken, hotdogs and boiled egg inside, and a side of #Piklis--another #Haitian staple of spicy cabbage and other veggies in vinegar. It costs around 75 HTG at that time, I think, and I'd be ready to rock n roll. While I was in the Dominican Republic, I would paddle out before sunrise in #PlayaEncuentro, then go home for a quick shower before going to work at the headquarters of #InternationalKiteboardingOrganization. At the corner of my street, #ElCallejondelaLoma, I would grab a few of these #hamandcheese #empanadas for just 15 RD each, to share with colleagues, paired with a glass of #jugonatural. Yum! I also discovered a real good #chickenempanada in #Sosua , just at the back of Caribe Tours bus station, while my friend Jennifer @minniejynx was visiting from Germany. I was even mad at the vendor because it was 30RD more than the ones I get in Callejon, but the serving was bigger and it was really delicious, so I eventually calmed down. We have empanadas in the Philippines too, brought by Spanish colonizers, which has probably evolved to its highest form: #peachmangopie in Jollibee (the most popular fastfood chain in Ph). It's a sweet dessert, prepared and deep fried like an empanada. You guys should try it out. I just really want to experiment on #texture with this piece because that's quite difficult to do in tattooing.
