About The Artwork
In 2008 I had a life changing experience, and painted fencers as a way to remind myself to fight and stay strong. I have always been fascinated by fencing: the footwork, the clothing, the mask, the swords. It reminds me of times long ago when men would fight for their honour. Since I love all things old and vintage, I gravitated to fencers naturally and painted them in all kinds of positions and colours. Here is the first fencer I painted in that series.
