About The Artwork
This plant is named Impatiens because its elastic capsules burst open when touched and scatter seeds with considerable force. Its common name is Busy Lizzie. I painted it in my brother's garden in the South of France where it had been allowed to grow and spread. It was not confined by a pot. It is also known as Lady's Slipper.
