About The Artwork

Recently, I traveled back to my native city, Kharkiv. This city, once bustling with life and energy, was a vibrant metropolis before the war cast its shadow over Ukraine. Kharkiv's main railway station was a hive of activity, filled with the sounds of hurried footsteps, cheerful greetings, and the constant hum of trains. However, this spring, as I stood before the grand edifice of the station at around 3 pm, I was struck by an overwhelming sense of emptiness. The once-busy place now seemed eerily quiet, with only a few scattered individuals and city pigeons pecking at the ground in search of food. The contrast was stark and deeply moving. Unable to simply walk away, I took a photo of this poignant scene. The image stayed with me, compelling me to translate that moment of quiet solitude and the station's enduring grandeur into a watercolor painting. This artwork is not just a depiction of a building; it is a narrative of resilience, a testament to the enduring spirit of Kharkiv and its people. **Details** - Medium: Watercolor on high-quality paper - Dimensions: 50 x 70 cm - Unframed This painting is perfect for anyone who appreciates architectural beauty, history, and the deep stories embedded in places affected by time and events. Add this unique piece to your collection and let it serve as a reminder of Kharkiv's enduring spirit and the silent strength of its iconic railway station. Whether you have a personal connection to Ukraine or simply appreciate the artistry and emotion captured in this piece, this watercolor painting is sure to be a cherished addition to your home or office. Bring home a piece of Kharkiv's soul, encapsulated in this evocative watercolor painting.

I was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine but currently live in Lisbon, Portugal. I have been fascinated by drawing and painting since my childhood. There was quite a long break in my artistic carrier. I've practiced law for more then 20 years, worked as diplomat in foreign missions. But relocation to Portugal in 2022 and the beautiful nature of this country inspired me to pick up my brushes and paints and start to create! I am a watercolor artist. My art is multifaceted and diverse. I used to live in various countries and is now traveling a lot, always studying other cultures and exploring the nature in different parts of the world: US, Europe, Australia, Asia Pacific. Now I create both realistic and abstract pieces of art, my works varies in colors and their deepness.
