About The Artwork
This work is a collaboration between M G Walker and New Zealand colour-field painter Ellen Johansen. Our collaborative works explore ideas of individual and cultural transformation. Human and mythical beings appear in a variety of guises referencing symbols of power, various historical periods, at times appearing partially clothed or even completely naked, a metaphor for universal vulnerability in the face of inevitable transformation and change.
