About The Artwork
Gene Sanchez and Doug Haug studied the painting hanging outside my studio door while holding their mugs of black java. It's nameless state bothered them, just as it bothered me. It was wild, they said. It had energy, they said. It had a flowing movement and, yet seemed to splash, they said. It was a head-scatcher for sure they said as they laughed. "Sort of like my morning coffee' said Doug (or was it Gene?) The name stuck.
