Mountains Memories is an abstract acrylic mountain landscape on a gesso panel. The panel is produced by P.E.R. Belle Arti in Italy, the panel is made with acrylic gesso that makes them ultra-smooth boards and very absorbent. They are handmade and finished with a smooth surface, the 6mm thick wooden base is multi-ply, which is stable and lightfast. This painting is loosely based upon a Scottish landscape, in particular the Glencoe Valley in the Highlands. This artwork shows the soaring, dramatic splendour of Glencoe and in general any journey though the Highlands. In the painting there are blue skies, with streaks of pink and yellow. Blue mountain ridge in the distance, brown foothills with a footpath climbing through the peaks to reach the mountain behind. In the forefront there is bright orange and red shrubbery and in the centre there is bright green herbaceous foliage. This artwork is sold unframed, our local framers is currently closed. Mountain Memories is not painted around the edges, I believe this artwork would look at its best in a beautiful frame. I am open to offers on this artwork, please feel free to contact me.

I studied English Literature BA (Hons) at university and I went on to do a Creative Writing course with the Open University. This led me to becoming a writer of children’s books, in particular I enjoy creating picture books. Gradually the picture became my focus and I started to create an Illustrator’s portfolio. The subject matter I work with varies from representing shape and form to intricate details. I am fascinated with nature and its’ various forms, whether it be wild animals, the wilderness, the weather or our pets. These themes compel me to create art. I have a love and deep respect for nature in all its forms, I hope these feelings permeate into the drawings via my brush or pencil. Illustrators such as Axel Scheffler, Alexis Deacon and writers such as Thoreau, Wordsworth, William Blake and George MacDonald inspire my artwork.
