Some work is not easy to describe as there are times when it appears to have a desire of its own! Initially, I was inspired by the pop art of Bridget Riley. I wanted to explore line only and by arrangement create a colour pattern that might give a sense of movement. What emerged, however, was an abstract sense of an object. From my viewpoint, I see a goblet. Later, I came across a song "My Cup Runneth Over" by Aretha Franklin, so in the end I had a title! Using acrylic paint mixed with clay has given it a slightly textured but strong quality. It is signed on the reverse (could be signed on the side, if preferred) and as it is a deep canvas with painted sides, it could be hung right away.
