About The Artwork

"New Wine" came out of a live painting done with pianist Yukari Soma and Tea Master apprentice Keiko Yanaka. Video of the full performance is here: https://youtu.be/2ZGhxCzYlEw Done in traditional (17th Century) Japanese materials used in Nihonga, Makoto Fujimura paints live to music being created on the spot by Yukari Soma. Both artists are working cross-modal in a live moment. The original painting is available through Artrue (inquire with claire@artrue.asia ), and Makoto Fujimura has been showing at Waterfall Mansion Gallery in New York City, and has a major retrospective at Gonzaga University's Jundt Museum in the fall of 2019. This print is unsigned, and not an edition print.
