This painting explores human connections, fragility and cementing of ties, a tug and pull of relationships, and creative play in the bedroom and beyond.

A wooden frame holds a table cloth bound by braided, twisted and sewn vintage satin ribbons, strings of fake pearls, and torn delicate lace underthings. After enduring many painted layers in both thin and thick paint and binding manipulations, the cloth looks and behaves almost human and skin-like - a metaphor for what our skin/soul endures and still survives.

Poetry, music, rebellion, femininity, humour and wonder of my world reveal themselves in images, both soft and hard, always mysterious, always in layers of meaning. My stories emerge like flowers opening up their petals, one at a time, as I try to bring to light all the facets of a certain moment in time, of a beautiful memory. But in the end, or in the beginning, it's all about love. I explore painting as a connection to our human vulnerability, of which love is its ultimate manifestation. https://www.instagram.com/gone_with_chinook/
