About The Artwork
The background of this painting was first covered and dripped with paint. Paint was also applied with a palette knife to create depth. As I covered this layer with a different color, forms started to pop up. Removing some of it again, formed different, unexpected forms. I let myself be guided by this proces. That's what makes painting an upredictable process, I love it! Adding paper/collage to define the several forms. I was inspired by shells, fossils and my travels to Egypt and Italy.

Children's books illustrator, painter. Hats and faces are my inspiration. I feel the need to express these subjects by painting, collage and experiment with it. Paper is my favorite material, there are so many ways of precessing this . Every painting/collage is an adventure: the image starts to develop while painting and searching.
