About The Artwork
I wanted to explore unusual color treatment and brushwork in a simple still life composition. This painting was inspired by the San Francisco School of Figurative Art and their style of expressionist painting. I've done a number of still life paintings and in these paintings I wanted to take my approach further and to make the work simpler. These paintings are on watercolor paper using acrylic paint with a color under-painting over no ground. The paintings are suitable for framing with a matte.
