I have long loved tree hedges. All the same, and all different, like us. When they are poplars, the delicacy of their movements in the lightest wind makes them a living curtain, where the leaves capture the light while the trunks barely move. It is this contrast between the high structure of the trunks and the moving veil of the leaves that fascinates me.
