Subject: This painting captures the Patio de Armas at the Alcazaba de Málaga, a Spanish-Arab garden designed by Fernando Guerrero-Strachan based on etchings from the 16th century. Description: This painting immerses the viewer in the beauty and serenity of the garden with its expert use of perspective, line, and pattern, inviting viewers to contemplate the history and culture that shaped the space. Clean line work reinforces the garden's strong geometric structure evident in the detailing and layout of the space, with small canals guiding water from the upper palace to the central fountain. A trellis frames views of the sea stretching out to the horizon and highlights the tranquility that can arise from order. Process: Plein-air drawing, painted in studio.
