About The Artwork

This painting is of North Entrance beach ( Central Coast NSW Australia ) where I grew up in the 1950's 60's and 70's and I am on this beach weekly. This beach has soooo many precious memories from my childhood and even to this very day, as I was on this beach at lunch time today. My parents house backed onto this beach, so I grew up surfing, fishing and playing on this beach and I still do today. You can take the boy out of the beach, but you can't take the beach out of the boy. This painting has been a long time coming. And it is the first time that I have painted part of it that is not completely abstract. The Norfolk Island Pine trees in this painting are now much bigger, and I knew the man who planted them 120 years ago. The splash of gold and copper and metallic blue in the ocean is my abstract way of meaning that the ocean is PRECIOUS to me. This painting is 122 cm x 122 cm and 3.8 cm deep on a quality canvas. It is finished with a subtle satin varnish that enhances the color and protects the paint. The edges are completely painted, so there is no real need for an external frame. On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity. It is wired ready to hang and has felt cushion to protect your walls. This painting will be shipped in a crate.

The assortment of bases gives Patrick’s work depth, while the bulk and shadow lines bolster the pieces character. As Patrick’s work is evolutionary his latest style remains contemporary abstract. He uses various mediums and acrylics in fluid states to produce a mixture of abstract colours and shapes. Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques. Patrick has had many exhibitions, either solo or combined with other artists. He has won acclaim and awards for his abstract imagination. His work is displayed in galleries on the Central Coast and in private collections. .
